Advanced Workshop

Intermediate/Advanced Investor’s Workshop: “Advanced Rehab, Landlording, and Business Strategies”

When you’ve “been there, done that” in the real estate world, you find yourself in the unfortunate position of wanting more and more advanced education from real do-ers…but finding that such education is usually extremely expensive, if you can find it at all!

But thanks to our unique position as the largest and most-respected non-profit provider of real estate education, OREIA has been able to consistently attract the top level advanced educators in the country at admission fees lower than they charge their own students for the same information. And this year, we’ve outdone ourselves by expanding the usual 2-day workshop to 4 full days—without increasing the price at all!

This Year, You Get FOUR Advanced Topics in FOUR Days from FOUR Mega-Investors…All for Just $395 for 1 Person, $595 for 2!

Sign Me Up!

Here’s how it works:

  • The intermediate/advanced workshop runs CONCURRENTLY with the main conference, November 5th-7th, and at the same Hyatt location. The Thursday advanced session is Ray Alcorn’s “Advanced Commercial Techniques”, which is open to all attendees at an additional $99 charge, but is included in your tuition
  • The workshop will be taught by a different speaker on a different topic each day. This is “higher level” education, so if you’re brand new to the real estate world, the main conference (with its overview of 10 different topics) might be a better choice for you.
  • Your tuition includes the main conference, so if you want to move back and forth between the advanced workshops and main conference speakers, you are free to do so
  • Your tuition also includes recordings of the main conference workshops (excepting Than Merrill, who has requested that he not be recorded), so you can review them after the event even if you don’t attend the main conference.

These Presenters Have a LOT of Experience and Expertise to Share with You…

We’ve chosen them based exclusively on their experience and the high level of systemization they’ve brought to their fields. If you’re looking for ways to take your business to the next level, this is the workshop for you…

Thursday: Ray Alcorn, “Advanced Commercial Investing Strategies”

See “Pre-conventions Workshop” tab for full information

Friday: Jerry Fink, “Rehabbing Right for Rental or Resale”

Jerry Fink is a former CPA who has applied his love of cookie-cutter systems to the renovation business. With over 25 year’s experience in real estate, he’s got everything from the hiring of contractors to the choosing of materials to the management of the job down to a science—and as a result, he gets his renovations completed fast, right, and on budget. In his all-day workshop, he’ll teach you:

  • How to find contractors who can do the job, do it right, and do it affordably.
  • How to estimate the cost of any rehab or turnover up front, so you can make the right offer (if you’re buying) or stay on budget (if you’re turning over an existing unit).
  • How to plan out your rehab using a simple (but crucial) “work flow” that puts the right workmen on the job at the right time to get the repairs finished in minimum time and get that property on the market ASAP.
  • How to select the right materials for the right property—and he’ll show you the unique program he’s developed for ordering all the right stuff instantly and easily, saving you big time and money.
  • How to control the job with the right contracts and agreements, and what to do when something goes wrong.

EVERY real estate investor needs to understand the rehab process, and when you learn from Jerry, you learn to step up your game to do more rehabs faster and with less hassle.

Saturday: “Advanced Rental Management and Partnership Strategies” with Missy McCall-Hammonds

Missy McCall-Hammonds is one of those real estate success stories that simultaneously makes you feel hyper-motivated and like an under-achiever. In just 11 years in the real estate business, she’s bought and rehabbed over 500 houses. She currently owns 150 rentals and lease/options and manages 200 more for partners and investors.

Needless to say, she hasn’t done all this without great systems and staff. Missy will go beyond the usual “tricks” that “mom and pop” landords use to manage the hard way, and show you how to build a real rental BUSINESS that runs with or without you. She’ll share some of her best systems, including:

  • The property analysis system, so you can choose properties that work for you AND your tenants.
  • The financing system, so you can have everything the bank (or your private lender) wants to see before they even ask.
  • The “rent ready” system that makes your unit irresistible to tenants.
  • The marketing system that brings tons of potential tenants into your funnel, so you can rent your vacancies fast.
  • The lockbox showing system, so you never have to waste another minute showing units.
  • The application system, so you can separate the mere liars from the out-and-out criminals—and find the good prospects in the mix.
  • The lease signing system, so you won’t forget any of the 15 crucial things that you need to present to your tenants.
  • The filing system—yep, it’s a system too!—that guarantees you’ll never have to hunt around for another piece of information.
  • The billing system that will accelerate your rent collection instantly.
  • The eviction and collection systems that will get rid of the bad guys fast and easily and let you collect lost rents you never thought you’d see.

And—pay attention here, because this is really big—Missy will also be sharing, for the first time EVER, the details of her “Share the Wealth” program. This unique program allows her to sell her rental properties for FULL PRICE to passive investors, then continue to get cash flow and appreciation from them. Many, many people have tried to figure out and copy this system, but no one has really seen the details until now. If you’re trying to figure out how to refinance properties to get cash out in this practically credit-less market, Share the Wealth is your answer, and you’ll only learn about it in her workshop!

Sunday: “How to Run Your Business Like a Business” with Elmer Diaz

There are 2 levels of success for real estate investors—the one where you’re buying and selling a ton of deals, and the one where other people are doing it for you while you collect the checks.

Elmer Diaz has reached this second level using “E-Myth” Principals. After moving from Puerto Rico to Texas in the 1980s, he took the Houston real estate market by storm and, by 1996, owned over 600 units with equity of $5.5 million, and was generating $3 million a year in flip income. In 1997, he took a 2-year vacation with his family, then returned to teach others what he’s learned about building a super-successful real estate business.

In this advanced workshop, Elmer will show you how to shortcut the systemizing of your business. Listen in as he shares:

  • How to protect your business (and your assets) with the right legal entities.
  • Why it’s crucial to create systems that allow you to run your business more effectively—and let you easily hire others to run it for you.
  • How to develop a blueprint for your own success, and a business model that will make you financially free, fast.
  • How to stop working IN your real estate business and start working ON it.

This intensive study of what it takes to run a real estate investing BUSINESS, as opposed to just investing in real estate, is the “missing piece” for most intermediate and advanced investors. You’ll find out how to do more deals with less effort by focusing on your business instead of the “flavor of the month” strategy. It’s a must-know topic for serious investors, and you’ll only see it here at OREIA.
